Call to Action: Communal Parenting

COMMUNAL PARENTING! What can that look like in our modern, busy lives?

1. Talk to parents in your neighborhood about opportunities to exchange 'presence duties' at the local park or on your block. Presence duty = being around, visible, but not necessarily involved (unless there's blood, of course)

2. Offer to take a gaggle of neighborhood kids out for ice cream and let the bigger kids take the lead with the littles.

3. Start a game of kick the can or scooter races and invite all the kids, then back yourself out of the game as soon as you can (sometimes kids need initial modeling of how to get things started; if yours don't, great!).
